Abstract
Involvement of the nervous system, one of the common complications of multiple
myeloma, usually takes the form of myelomatosis paraplegia due either to compression
of the spinal cord by extradural deposits of myeloma or more rarely, to a collapsed
vertebra.
But cranial or intracranial involvement is said to be exceedingly rare.
Reported here, a case of a middle aged woman who presented with abducens nerve
palsy and diplopia resulted from intracranial involvement complicated 3 years after the
initial diagnosis of multiple myeloma. To our knowledge, it seems to be the first case of
multiple myeloma with intracranial involvement.
